About the screening of the film “Brest Fortress”

On June 24, 2023, Rıdvan Demirhan, a candidate for the Honorary Consuls of Belarus in Çanakkale, hosted a film screening of the war film “Brest Fortress”, which tells about the first days of the Great Patriotic War and deals with the heroic defenders of the borders of our Motherland.

The event dedicated to the Day of National Remembrance of the victims of the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people, the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, was organized with the assistance of R.Demirhan and was held with the support of the Belarusian diplomatic missions in Türkiye – the Consulate General in Istanbul and the Embassy in Ankara, as well as the Standing Committee of the Union State. Among the honor guests of the film screening were the Vice-governor of Çanakkale province, representatives of business circles and media.

Ambassador Victor Rybak and Consul General Aleksei Shved focused on the importance of preserving historical memory and the inadmissibility of forgetting the feat of the multinational Soviet people in the Great Victory, its price for Belarusians was emphasized – every third of its citizen.
