On the visit of Ambassador of Belarus V. Rybak to Iraq

On 1 December 2024, on the first day of working visit to Baghdad, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Türkiye with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Iraq Viktar Rybak met with the leadership of three ministries to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation in a number of areas.

During his meeting with the Minister of the Interior affairs of Iraq, A. Al-Shammari, the discussion was focused on the development of practical cooperation between the agencies of Belarus and Iraq, expansion of the legal framework, and exchange of experience.

Ambassador V.Rybak discussed with Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Naeem Al-Aboudi the possibilities of Belarusian-Iraqi cooperation in higher education, professional development and retraining of specialists, as well as the development of contacts between educational institutions of both countries.

V.Rybak also met with Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Iraq Ahmed Al-Mubarka. The interlocutors agreed on further steps to expand co-operation in the field of training sportsmen and the use of Belarusian sports facilities for this purpose.

Ambassador V.Rybak invited the heads of the Iraqi ministries to visit the Republic of Belarus to continue contacts with the relevant authorities.
