About the visit of the Ambassador of Belarus V. Rybak to Iraq

On 30 January 2024, during the second day of the working visit to Baghdad (Iraq), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Republic of Türkiye and the Republic of Iraq concurrently, Viktar Rybak, met with the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council of Iraq, Faik Zaydan. During the meeting, they discussed the results of the official visit of the Iraqi official to our country in November 2023. The parties expressed their firm intention to develop bilateral relations between the countries. They exchanged views on regional and global issues.

The Head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission paid a courtesy visit to Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq for International Affairs — Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein. The officials reaffirmed their intention and readiness to implement all the agreements reached by the Heads of Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Iraq on the margins of the Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku in July 2023. They also discussed regional and global issues.

On the same day, the Ambassador of Belarus met with Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari and Deputy Minister of Trade of Iraq Ghassan Farhan. The meetings were focused on ways to expand bilateral cooperation, including the development of the legal framework.

V.Rybak invited the Iraqi ministers to pay an official visit to the Republic of Belarus.
