The Ambassador of Belarus took part in solemn events dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War

On May 9, 2023, the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Türkiye together with the Embassy of the Russian Federation, held solemn events dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

During the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Türkiye Victor Rybak made a speech in the presence of the heads of diplomatic missions of the CIS and a number of other foreign countries accredited in Ankara, during which he emphasized the merit and contribution of the entire multinational Soviet people to the Great Victory. He noted with regret the facts of the revival of Nazism in Europe, stressed the need to use political and diplomatic means to establish peace in Ukraine as soon as possible.

Earlier on May 5, there was held a concert with the participation of the Belarusian diplomats’ children, and on May 7 – the teams of the Embassies of the CIS countries held sports competitions, dedicated to the Victory Day, in football, volleyball, billiards, tennis and table tennis.

Portraits of veterans from among the relatives of the Belarusian diplomats were presented at the “Immortal Regiment” thematic stand, located on the territory of the Russian Embassy in Ankara.
